Not so luckily, there was no indication you needed to sign in so I had to go to another tent. Once I got through the line, apparently I needed to sign in digitally through a QR code and THEN sign in on paper again??? So, turns out the whole event during finals was to get people to sign up for their events page but I don't check those anyways, too many classes going on to even consider going to these events.
So afterwards I went back to the tent, showed my wrist band I received from sign-in and then got my food. Turkey isn't my favorite but food is food, especially if it's free and I need it. It actually doesn't taste that bad right now but that's probably due to being ABSOLUTELY STUPIDLY HUNGRY. They even put it on hamburger buns instead of just the sliced and the cheese was swiss. I know that's essentially bare minimum but I still have an appreciation for them not completely cheaping out. These sandwiches alone are usually 4 dollars, the pasta they included with it usually 2, and the kettle chips 2.
Couldn't help but mull over the idea of having to digitalize everything nowadays. It used to be all you had to do on campus was show your id to prove you were in fact a student. Now we have an id but we nary use them. "Make sure you carry your school I'd at all times!" They said during orientation, what a joke.
